There are many ways that you can keep your dog warm this Winter, whether that is providing them with a warm bed with blankets or dressing them in dog t-shirts and using them as pyjamas. To keep your dog warm you can buy them blankets to cover them or for them to snuggle into, to keep them warm. Padded fleecy beds are also great to keep your dog toasty and comfortable during colder nights. If you find your dog is unsettled during the night it might be waking up as it is cold so a dog t-shirt can be used as pyjamas to keep the chill off during the night. T-shirts are great as they are comfortable to wear and the material will just...

Dogs are at risk as fetbergs made from Palm Oil have started to wash up on UK beaches after Storm Angus. The Palm Oil is coming from the Caribbean and they look like giant white rocks. They smell like diesel and are covered in harmful germs, however, dogs can not resist the taste of them. Palm Oil is a natural substance that is released by ships into the ocean, it then solidifies and looks a white/yellow waxy substance. Dogs that have ingested the substance have suffered from severe illness and in some serious cases death. Dog owners have been told to avoid beaches where there are reports of it washing up, if you have any concerns...

As we are nearing Rememberance Sunday we remember all the military and civil service men and woman who fought and were involved in the War, we will also remember the many animals that served in the War too. Beside the human soldiers dogs played very important roles during the war, the roles varied depending on their breed and how trainable they were. Some of the roles included were, scout dogs, sentry dogs, explosive dogs, ratting dogs, companion dogs, casualty, messenger and mascot dogs. Sentry/ Guard Dogs These dogs were used to guard military bases and camps, usually they would be by one guards side and alert them of a intruder...

Our newest rescue dog Daz the Lurcher from Battersea Dogs and Cats Home did not have the best start in life, the very first day we bought him home after Legend our Flatcoated Retriever had picked him he jumped up on the kitchen counter and would not come down, only because he wasn't sure of his new surroundings. We do not know much about his history but we do know that we are his fifth home and his last chance. It didn't take long for him to settle in our home and he and Legend were inseparable. It was so rewarding seeing him change from the shy and nervous dog to the dog who was full of life and character out enjoying walks and...

We have now treated Legend with Frontline Spray to help protect him against the Harvest Mites as the season is now underway. The farmland and crops near where Legend is walked has started to be cut by the farmers meaning that the Harvest Mite Larvae will need to search for new sources of food. Harvest Mite Larvae create a small hole when they attach to a dog and using digestive enzymes will eat at the dogs skin cells, this is a very irritating and painful process so it is very important dogs are treated. What are the signs of Harvest Mites? The first sign that your dog has these mites is sudden licking and biting their feet with...
